Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the company. One of the show's original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in all 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until now. Corcoran has been involved in 53 deals as of February 2020. The most significant was a $350,000 investment that will pay for 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children in a working class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. Her father was constantly switching jobs throughout Corcoran's career. Her family sometimes relied upon free food delivery from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as a man who sometimes consumed too much alcohol and did her mother a disservice and condescension, particularly after he'd consumed alcohol. Corcoran struggled in school, and eventually discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended an Catholic elementary school in her community and started high school at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a degree in English after failing several courses during her first year of high school.
